WELCOME TO MY JAPAN TRAVEL BLOG!
I’ve been to over 20 prefectures across Japan, and my goal is to help you find those iconic Japan experiences on your very first trip!
Through this blog, I hope to give you confidence in navigating Japan’s trains and buses without the stress.
Or at least much less of it.
Because let’s be real, you’ll probably still get a little confused. But just remind yourself that it’s part of the Japan experience! 😆 (It still happens to me. 😅)

Tokyo to where?!
So, where to go once you’ve made it to Tokyo?!
I’ll give you ideas for places to visit by train or bus to help you plan your route through Japan!
Shrines with red torii gates, classic Japanese gardens, historic castles, a former samurai walking route, a temple pilgrimage walking route, the bullet train… and more to experience so-very-Japan things!
The classic route is to go from Tokyo to Kyoto, and then onwards to Hiroshima.
Or instead of going directly from Tokyo to Kyoto, you can take the New Golden Route of Japan which is basically a detour through Central Japan to historic Japanese towns, as well as to the Japanese Alps.
Or, still follow the classic shinkansen bullet train route from Tokyo to Kyoto, but make a stop at one of the shinkansen train stations along the way. Continuing on, you can also make a stop along the shinkansen route between Kyoto and Hiroshima, and you can also make a longer detour to spend several days exploring Shikoku and the Seto Inland Sea islands.
Or, to see a lot of different places in a short amount of time, do a 7-day Japan itinerary with a JR pass.
You can also do the Mount Fuji climb to experience more of Japan.
For a less traditional route, you can head to Northern Japan.
