Kon’nichiwa!

There are coin lockers (storage lockers) at train stations across Tokyo (and Japan in general).

So if you know you’ll be returning to another train station after your day trip to Disney, then you might want to first look for coin lockers at that station so you can get rid of your luggage early. It’s less trains to drag your luggage around, and you can ride the Disney monorail without it too.

But in case you feel that your best option is to use coin lockers near Tokyo Disney, then there are coin lockers near both Tokyo DisneySea and Tokyo Disneyland that you can use for luggage storage too. There are lockers of different sizes, and it’s 800 yen (US$6) for a self-service big locker. I’ll show you below what it looks like.

Maihama Station coin lockers

If you’re arriving to Tokyo Disney by train, then Maihama Station will be your gateway to Disney. This is the train station you’ll arrive at if you’re coming from centrally located Tokyo neighborhoods.

See more about how to get to Tokyo Disney by train.

Maihama Station has a decent number of coin lockers in the secure ticketed area.

So if you will be leaving Maihama Station by train at the end of the day, then you may first want to look for coin lockers inside the ticketed area. This is what I would do so I can get rid of my luggage early.

Being in the ticketed area, do not leave the ticketed area without looking for the coin lockers. I saw some near the stairs for the train going to Tokyo Station and Shin-Kiba Station.

There are also coin lockers outside the gate once you exit the station. But you can also look inside the ticketed area… IF you will be returning to the ticketed area at the end of the day (aka leaving Disney by train).

If you don’t find any available coin lockers at Maihama Station, it’s okay.

There are tons more coin lockers at Tokyo DisneySea and Tokyo Disneyland, so you will just continue making your way to your park of choice.

From Maihama Station, you will look for signs for the Disney Resort Line. This is the Tokyo Disney monorail that will take you to DisneySea and Disneyland. (The monorail stations are named “Tokyo DisneySea Station” and “Tokyo Disneyland Station” so you can’t mess it up.)

I’ll next show you what the coin lockers at Disney actually look like.

Find the Disney coin lockers!

So your first step is actually finding the coin lockers.

luggage storage at tokyo disney coin lockers

πŸ‘† There are lockers at both Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea that you can use for luggage storage.

Tokyo DisneySea lockers

Take the Disney monorail to Tokyo DisneySea Station. There are a ton of coin lockers right upon exiting the monorail station ticket gate.

Once you get off the monorail, you’ll walk outside the ticket gate. Once you start walking in either direction, you will pretty much immediately see a pretty big coin locker section. You really can’t miss it, especially if you’re looking for it.

There are different size lockers.Β The cost to store luggage at the Tokyo DisneySea coin lockers: 400 yen and 500 yen for the small and medium lockers, and 600 yen and 800 yen for the large and extra large coin lockers.

If there are no available Tokyo DisneySea coin lockers when you arrive, Tokyo Disney Resort reports that there will be a temporary baggage storage service set up, with a cost of 1,500 yen per item no matter the size. Only suitcases or wheeled carriers can be stored at this temporary facility.

πŸ‘† The coin lockers are literally at the monorail station! That’s the Tokyo Disney monorail.

Tokyo Disneyland lockers

If you are walking to Disneyland from Maihama Station, I think the easiest is really to consult google maps! If you zoom in around Disneyland, you’ll see that there are lockers marked. There is more than one area, and you’re looking for “storage lockers” or “coin lockers.” See the map to get you started.

If you take the Disney monorail to Tokyo Disneyland Station, then there are a few coin lockers immediately upon exiting the monorail station ticket gate. If there are no lockers available here, then you’ll need to walk a little to find a ton more.

The coin locker section directly at the monorail station is pretty tiny. There aren’t that many lockers. Consider yourself lucky if you find open an available coin locker here.

But it’s okay if there are no available lockers at the Tokyo Disneyland monorail station. You just need to walk more to locate an available locker.

The area where you’ll go through security (and no big items are allowed) is pretty much at the Tokyo Disneyland monorail station. If you are arriving to Disneyland by monorail, the easiest will be to ask a security person to direct you to more coin lockers. (And to be confident you’re going the right way.)

How to pay

The storage lockers at Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea are self-service, and there are 2 basic types of lockers in terms of method of payment.

There’s the type that are the old-school coin lockers that actually require 100 yen coins in order for you to use them, and there’s also the electronic type where you can use either cash or an IC card.

So you will want to be prepared with cash in case you come across the cash-only lockers.

Electronic lockers

At the electronic lockers, you can pay using your IC card, like a suica card or pasmo card. This is the same card that you use to ride local Tokyo trains that can be used for these types of lockers. The electronic lockers at Tokyo Disney also accept cash.

You’ll know if you’ve arrived at lockers that accept IC cards if you see a digital screen in the locker section. Once you’ve found a locker for your luggage, go over to the digital screen and look for the English language option. After that, you will just follow the prompts and it will be pretty straightforward to use the locker.

πŸ‘† First you’ll look for the English language option, and then from there you will follow the instructions on what to do. You can pay by cash or IC card.

100 yen coin-only lockers

You’ll know if you’ve arrived at lockers that only accept 100 yen coins if you see keys in the lockers.

The traditional coin lockers require 100 yen coins in order to use, and you will find a change machine nearby to get 100 yen coins. You will need to have 500 yen coins or 1000 yen bills in order to exchange for 100 yen coins at the machine.

The locker you choose will say how much it costs, and that’s the amount that you will put into the coin slot. Once you’ve put in enough coins, you will be allowed to take the key from the locker and the locker is locked!

πŸ‘† If you don’t have enough 100 yen coins, then you can get them at the change machine with 500 yen coins and 1000 yen bills. On the machine it says to contact a Disney cast member if you need to exchange other bills or coins.

I went to check out the Tokyo Disney coin lockers in August 2025. Your experience may vary!
