Below I have created a map of all Tokyo Disney hotels and affiliated hotels so you can quickly see where each is in relation to Disneyland, DisneySea, and top Tokyo attractions.

But first I want to explain the difference in the types of hotels. There are Disney hotels, official hotels, partner hotels, and good neighbor hotels.

Disney hotels

On my map below, Disney hotels are marked with a magenta pin.

 

These are true Disney hotels. They are hotels with “Disney” in the name, like the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, the Tokyo Disneysea Hotel MiraCosta, and Disney Ambassador Hotel.

There are 6 Disney hotels in the Tokyo area.

5 of them are located directly within the Disneyland and DisneySea areas, near a Tokyo Disney monorail station. (The monorail is the public transportation that loops around Tokyo Disney.)

Tokyo Disneyland Hotel is right next to the Tokyo Disneyland Station.

Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta is right next to Tokyo DisneySea Station.

Located near Bayside Station are the Disney hotels of Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs and Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel.

The Disney Ambassador Hotel is near the Resort Gateway Station, which is in fact your gateway to all things Disney if you arrive to Tokyo Disney by train on your own.

There is one Disney hotel that is off-site, and that’s the Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel. Because it’s located 20 minutes away in Urayasu, it is the cheapest Disney hotel.

 

Generally speaking, the Disney hotels are the hardest to book in terms of availability (compared to the official, partner, and good neighbor hotels), so it’s best to book sooner rather than later, be flexible with your dates, and check regularly for cancellations.

Disney hotels are available to book 4 months in advance.

👆 The official Tokyo Disney Resort website has a room availability and rate calendar, so you can quickly see availability for Disney hotels by selecting each hotel.

 

Now, aside from Disney hotels, there are also other hotels that are affiliated with Tokyo Disney Resort, and these are in 3 separate categories. They do not have the same exclusive benefits of staying in Disney hotels, but they do have the stamp of approval from Tokyo Disney Resort.

There are: official hotels, partner hotels, and good neighbor hotels.

 

Official hotels

On my map below, official hotels are marked with a purple pin.

 

Not to be confused with Disney hotels, there are “official hotels.” When looking at hotel names, it’s easy to know that they aren’t Disney hotels since there’s no “Disney” in their name.

All of the official hotels are located in the Tokyo Disney Resort area. They are specifically near Bayside Station on the monorail line. From Bayside Station, you are one monorail ride away from Disneyland or DisneySea.

The Tokyo Disney Resort official hotels are Grand Nikko Tokyo Bay Maihama, Hotel Okura Tokyo Bay, Maihama View Hotel by HULIC, Hilton Tokyo Bay, Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel, and Tokyo Bay Maihama Hotel First Resort.

 

If you want to stay as close to Disneyland or DisneySea as possible, then you want to stay in any official hotel or a Disney hotel that’s not the Celebration hotel.

Partner hotels

On my map below, partner hotels are marked with a teal pin.

 

The partner hotels are all located off-site (not within the Tokyo Disney Resort area), but in the neighboring area of Urayasu, located around 20 minutes away by car from Disneyland and DisneySea. Partner hotels offer a free shuttle to Tokyo Disney. (Reservations likely required.)

The Tokyo Disney Resort partner hotels are Urayasu Brighton Hotel Tokyo Bay, Hotel Emion Tokyo Bay, Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay, and Mitsui Garden Hotel Prana Tokyo Bay.

Good neighbor hotels

On my map below, official hotels are marked with a pink pin.

 

The good neighbor hotels are the Tokyo Disney Resort affiliated hotels that are the furthest away from Disneyland and DisneySea. Good neighbor hotels offer a free shuttle to Tokyo Disney. (Reservations likely required.)

In general, these hotels are best to stay at if you want a free shuttle to Disney, but also want good access to do other popular Tokyo things too. There are some budget-friendly hotels compared to Disney hotels and Disney affiliated hotels, and there are also some luxury good neighbor hotels.

They area located in the neighborhoods of Ariake, Odaiba, Chiba, Sumida, Koto, and Shinjuku.
